DejaOffice 1.2.9 & CompanionLink
It seemed to work fine at first. But after several attemps to get Deja Office to update contacts it erased all contacts in my iPhone. Good thing I had a backup. Their tech said it was not ever going work right with an iPhone and they knew it. It wasn't designed for iPhones! What a piece of crap.

This is not a bad app, but you can't trust it. I am coming from a Palm background, where I never had all the problems that I have with this. Admittedly, part of the problem might be the Apple side of things. I don't trust Apple. either. Why? I just rebuilt my hard drive, and nothing Apple has worked correctly since. All the non-Apple stuff? No problem. Apple? Deleted my library, and now can't seem to keep this computer "authorized," as if that should be any of their business. After "re-authorizing" I got a message that this compter is already authorized, but not before Apple screwed up all 4 pages of my device. Thanks Apple for all the extra work. I suppose that I wouldn't be so frustrated, but before I switched from Palm to Apple, all I heard was how great Apple is and how far behind the Palm is. The reverse is true. As for DejaOffice, I just synced for the first time since rebuilding my hard drive, and DejaOffice duplicated hundreds of memos, appointments, and contacts, seemingly at random...how to recover? Not sure, because I didn't backup just before syncing. Why not? Because Palm never did this to me in the past 15 years. So use this if you need to, but be very careful to make plenty of backups to help you recover from DejaOffice problems. 2011-12-31 Edit: As I recover from the mess that DO made of my databases, I found in "Advanced Options" that a bunch of options were turned on by default, among them options to reformat my phone numbers. Yep, You guessed it. The DO folks thought that they knew so much better than I how my phone numbers should look...well, I can't change hundreds of them back now.

Calendar miss
The calendar needs an option to add an event that repeats bi-weekly.

Nice UI but syncing is horribly cumbersome
Really wanted this to work but just couldn't get the syncing to work very well, plus it takes a zillion steps each time you want to sync. Both devices have to be connected to the same server, you have to open the pc software (companion link), then open the iPad software, blah blah blah. Ipad2-Pc running Windows 2000 & Outlook 2010. Imap email, Exchange server for the rest of the outlook stuff..

Works on my 3GS
Syncs my cal and contacts with google. Every option works. I like the option to make some stuff private. Would be nice if I could see my tasks and notes sorted by category. I try not to complain when a good concept is free. Much better to contact the creators and work on a fix. That benefits everyone.
