Pretty good...may be frustrating for kids :/
First off, I am using an iPad2. I think most of the negative reviews are coming from iPad first gen users.... with that, the marker works on my iPad2 with a screen protector and back case..however it is a little laggy at times and you have to put a little pressure but not really more than you would if you were actual coloring with a crayon. Didn't really notice a difference with or without the screen protector. The rubbery tip of the iMarker is sort of annoying cuz it gets stuck sometimes because of the texture of it, actually works better in that sense with my screen protector than on actual screen....it really gets stuck without the screen protector in my opinion. As far as the app...,it's pretty awesome, my pet peeve is that though it looks like you have colored the whole page, when the page is saved to the gallery or shared there are parts that are still white ( especially around the crayola box and the option menu) makes it look like you missed a section of your picture...that's a bummer when you are very proud of your work and then it looks like that when you share.....for me (23 yr old! Ha) I'll get over it, but a kid could be really upset if the pic they sent to grandma isn't what they thought! Trust me, I work with children, I know! You can't see the missed parts until u save or share, it's mainly the part right under the options bar but there is no way to get to the missed section. REALLY WISH THIS WILL BE FIXED IN THE NEXT UPDATE! Overall, it's a pretty good app and the iMarker isn't as bad as people are saying, mind you this is coming from iPad2 user and 23 years old! For a kid I can see where it would cause frustration and abandonment of the iMarker or app altogether! That said, I use it all the time! Not happy about spending $30 could be MUCH cheaper! ALSO: as far as the many reviews under mine...my app has NEVER crashed or did anything they said...again maybe they are using original iPads! Idk but my app is fine. UPDATE 11/14/11 Returned the marker... Too annoying and works fine with a regular stylus, but you can't zoom in finger mode which stinks.....with the new update I still love it but I just colored a great pic, went to save it and then looked in my gallery and nothing was there...restarted the app and it was gone! So mad!

Don't bother
Stylus barely works and was definitely not worth the money. Returning the stylus since it only frustrates my 3 yr olds.

Cute but needs polish
Please keep in mind my, review is based on the finger painting "try it" mode. I have not yet purchased the coloring stylus. The pictures are cute. The animations are a super fun addition to the coloring pages. You can pause the movement to color the objects. The objects keep your color as they move - very clever. The pop-up color selection crayon box is nicely located and cleverly organized. It is very easy to change colors and media. (Not an easy feat with so many options!) The appearance of the color as you draw on the page reflects the media you are using; paint looks like paint, crayon marks look like crayon marks, etc. There are a number of ways to share your creations (better invest in extra ink cartridges if you have an AirPrinter!). The repetitive and slightly annoying music can be turned off. Despite these strengths, the app feels like it is lacking final polish. If you use "stay in the lines" mode (default on), the definition of what is one object is inconsistent and sometimes odd; a boys hair and hat are colored as one object, the arm of a coat is defined as a separate object from the coat. These kinds of mistakes make the app feel as if it was not carefully tested after it was created. The crayon box color/medium selector is sluggish sometimes. After pressing it, and hearing the confirming click sound effect, the box does not pop up 1 out of 6 or 7 times. Again, making the app feel unpolished. After trying out the test mode, I do enjoy the creativity that Crayola put into this app, but I'm not quite ready to invest $30 for the compatible stylus. Especially considering that this is the only app the stylus can use, and other reviewers concerns about lack of robust content update.

Kicked myself for forgetting to read the reviews before buying the marker. Wouldn't have spent $30 on something with so many issues. After using it, i'm disappointed that it craps out completely at times, and needs too much pressure at other times. Probably should have just stuck to finger painting.

So fun
It is so fun for my little girl. We did not get the stylus but she uses her finger and it works just as well.
