Clunky and slow.
The interface in this version is very difficult to navigate and hard to use. Despite this, it works reasonably well for CBR and CBZ format comics. PDFs are nightmarishly slow on my iPhone 4S. When I get an iPad I will rereview this claim, but I doubt it will change. The page turns take upwards if 5-10 seconds each time, with lots of hangups and stuttering. iBooks, for all it's failings, does a much better job of PDF reading than ComicZeal.

From simple elegance to counterintuitive design: Making something good, worse
As a fan of comic books, this app was a great find in early 2011, when I was just starting to amass my online comic book collection. If you've never read your comics on a tablet (iPad or otherwise), you are truly missing out. Bright vibrant colors, strong detailed lines and smooth sliding of images going from one panel/page to the next. For me it was like rediscovering my love for comics all over again. But with this latest update, the app is still a very good comic reader, but the organizational tools seem very counter-intuitive. What was once a relatively simple way to organize your comics by titles or themes, is now overly complicated with a folder-within-folder system and red-tag pull list that requires extra gestures to find your latest downloads. Also comics are default listed from last to most current downloaded, without option for you to list them alphabetically or in whatever order you want (unless you manually create folder/boxes). As mentioned, there is a confusing tagging system now that makes it unclear as to how to locate your most recent downloaded reads; they are literally hidden from your home screen when you first open up the app! Shouldn't your newest comics be shown prominently first? This is really a matter of too much of a good thing. I appreciate organizational tool options, but it needs to be balanced with easy-of-use and intuitive design. What was once a 5-star app is now relegated to a 2-star app for me. Here's hoping that the developer will fix and address this in the next update. If you are in search of an CBR/CBZ/PDF reader app for your downloaded comics that is simple and clean, try Comic Flow (it's free). It doesn't have all the organizational capabilities, but it makes for an excellent digital comic reader on the iPad. *reviewed Tue, 03/06/12

Fast, simple, and easy to use
There really isn't much you need to know about this app, if you have been looking for a decent comic/manga reading app on your ipad or iphone then this will give you that and much more. You open the app and it gives you the option of a little 2 minute demo video that shows you exactly how to use the app and it is very simple and easy to understand. I loaded up all of my comics and manga and that was it, displays everything perfectly in the .cbr and .cbz formats that I use. Get it!

Best comic read our there
I've tried a number of comic readers out there, Stanza (don't zoom in or your hosed), Cloudreader, etc, and while they do the job they lack the little details that enhance the user experience. After a week of using Comic Zeal I'm NEVER going back to using an inferior reader. Zoom in, rotate, organized and much more, EXCELLENT JOB Bitolithic!

Awesome reader
This reader is really one of the best. After tutorial you understand how simple interface is. But I personally lack of Dropbox support. Liked this feature in Bookman. I you will add download from Dropbox, then app will be really best for me.

I love this app and I would love it even more if there was a OSX version I would buy that in a heart beat!
