Very impressive!
Very well integrated and interactive approach to learning. I wish all flight manuals were published this way. This is worth every penny.

Great app following a great book
Having used the CC book for many years I am so pleased to see it on the iPad. So far it has met and exceeded my expectations. Some options are not yet fully implemented but updates are coming on a regular basis. I have only had it for 2 days so I will update this review later. 18 Jan 2013 Having used the CC App as a sim instructor I can say it is excellent. Each update includes more features. I like the photos of components. This is a great and easy to use resource.

Great app
Great app but it doesn't seem to have near as much information as the paper version. Hopefully more detailed information will be added in the future. Works great though, no issues whatsoever and love the graphics.

Must have app
Have been using the cockpit companion as a backup to company manuals, as well as a study aid. The excellent index and logical layout make the paper version well worth the money. That said, the iPad version is much better. It eliminates the drawbacks of paper; the need to cross check references, page back and forth and carry around more mass. It maximizes the utility of the iPad; instant cross reference, all pertinent information on each subject (systems notes, schematics, minimum equipment considerations, quick reference guide/handbook, circuit breakers, photos) are available in one spot. The interface is simple and intuitive. Starting with the cockpit layout mockup, just tap the area of interest. Every switch, indicator and control is there. The app opens every time with a conditional that it not be used in lieu of approved manuals. This is probably a worthy way to open because there is a strong temptation to make this app the starting point for most questions that come up. Much easier than even doing a word search in a flight manual reader, especially considering the ability to have more than one type of reference tied to every control/indicator. I bought the app right after it came out. At that time the database only contained the -700. They promised to have the -600 and -800 by the end of November. And indeed they had it out before Thanksgiving. They also said they hope to have airline specific data out by the end January. Looking forward to that. This is the most useful app for the 737; well worth the price. Will update when airline specific version comes out.
