The app has photos that are barely useful. They show a very tight view of the terminal flower of most species. As someone thoroughly trained in botany and wildflower identification, it feels almost insulting not to be shown views of the whole plant, including the leaves and all the other information the whole plant gives to confirm identification. It cheats beginners, because they don't learn what's needed to really know plants.

Thumbnails too small
I love having this field guide info at my finger tips, but I'd you don't know what you're looking for these really won't help. Unlike the hard-copies, the thumbnail pics are so small they are useless on both the iPhone and iPad. I've finally become frustrated enough to post this on all the guides I've purchased with the hope that others will agree and get the developers attention since this I really the only major flaw in thaw otherwise excellent apps.

Audubon Flower Guide App
Superb App. Provides excellent easy to use reference for wildflower ID's. I recommend anyone buy this Ap that enjoys researching wildflowers in the field.

Crashed 3x already in 45min.
Each time I look up a plant the program send back a crash notice. I am not the only one with this problem. I am requesting a refund! Thank you. Unhappy Master Gardner

A bit disappointed
I've owned the print version of the field guide to wildflowers (Eastern edition) for years and years. When I saw this app, I was excited to purchase it. To my chagrin, this app tries is a bit spread thin. Since it covers both the Eastern and Western United States, there seems to be a sacrifice made in the data. Entire families are missing, or descriptions have been abbreviated. For example, try finding anything in the poison ivy (toxicodendron) family—you won't. The app size is absolutely enormous. For all that space, the publisher ought to go all out and provide at least as much info, if not more, than the printed version does. I just bought an iPhone 4S with 64 GB just so I could actually use a large app, but this particular app leaves me wanting.
