Nice introductory materials, good organization and bright clear photos. Easily worth the price!

Lots of holes. Buy a paper guide
Why didn't call this what it is. Trees of Eastern North America. I'm taking a Dendrology Lab in Louisiana and this is little to no help.

Good field guide
I take it on biz trips and it's very helpful. The books are easier to flip through when you have a tree in front of you. But the app works well on the iPad.

Two big flaws
Info is good, as are all the photos once you select the thumbnail. This is my major complaint, the thumbnails are virtually useless for identifying what you are seeing ( this is true for all these Audubon apps). The second flaw is that there are no good keys for winnowing down what you are seeing. So, you wind up spending a lot of time hunting one by one for the species you're looking at. For example, I saw a blue dragonfly. After putting in the location and general color, there were still dozens of choices and no way to pick the right one without opening all the thumbnails one at a time. If I had a key (eg: wings with no spots, two spots, more spots, etc) this would not be such a problem. App would be 4 stars with sharper thumbnails, 5 stars with a few keys to narrow down the search. Overall I would not buy the Audubon apps again without these fixes unless you already know most species you're interested in and just want some basic info about them.
