Decent app
I've tried the keys for identifying plants that as a forester, I know names. Run into quite a few that didn't ID the plant. I can understand variations of plants, as nature isn't cookie cutter. But, I was disappointed when it didn't ID habitat typing plants. All in all, it is a decent app and beats the bejeezers outta carrying a book!

Not perfect, but still excellent
To complain about this app is like complaining about the color-profile of the sun. Since there's no alternative, let us at least give an honest assessment: this is a very good field guide, is very, very nicely priced, and has heaps of useful information. Let's be clear, the only widely available field guide with better information is Sibley's spectacular book. Which isn't available electronically and is so heavy so as to be impractical for field use. The Audubon tree book is great, sufficiently comprehensive for any amateur, and authoritative. This iOS app version has the same strengths and weaknesses, but at a fraction of the cost and no space or weight (presuming that you're already carrying your phone with you into the field). Would I like silhouettes of trees in both summer and winter? Yes. Would I like better, clearer images, especially of bark? Yes. Would I like this app to actually provide the functionality of LeafSnap (which, to be honest, has never worked for me, but is a intriguing premise)? Of course. And I want a pony and an ice cream machine and a battery that lasts a month of constant use. For now, I'm satisfied with this app, because it is useful to me as it stands. I'm glad I bought it. For anything less than $10, this app is a bargain. I suggest you buy it, too.

Great tool that travels!
This app didn't seem to list the exotic tree that grows in my yard.. But the search options are helpful in narrowing down unknown trees. I look forward to being able to ID trees that I encounter in my travels.

rip off!
Has been STUCK in "Installing" mode for a week! NONE of the Audubon Apps I PURCHASED have completely installed yet! Great idea, but even a greater rip off! How do I get my money back?!!!
