What happened to this app?!?!?
I have experienced the same anomalies with this app as other reviewers. My sightings are there one day then gone the next. I also can't edit my sightings, so if I accidentally mistake a bird for some other species, which is not unusual for a birder to do, I'm stuck with it as one of my sightings. I also can't figure out how to start a life list. Don't the developers test these apps before they go live? Stay away from this app until you start reading some positive reviews. And for those of you with the same issues, write a review ASAP, they'll only fix it when their ratings start to go down.

Very disappointed
Loved the app before this update. First, I lost my lists, then they returned but they are all screwed up. I have no ability to edit. There is no delete option. Also, it changed my location to a town that does not exist in Connecticut. I live on Long Island in New York. I'm confused because the GPS worked previously. They need to fix this immediately. I'm going to have find a new app or just go back to using a pen and journal.

Overall enjoyed app
I do like this app, but when updating to iPhone 5 I lost all my sightings. It's just surprising that you even have a log in progress and it saves nothing.

Content syncing
Since the update, it has to sync every time I open the app on my iPhone and iPad. It takes approx 3 mins to do this. What's up with that? It is rendering this app useless to me. Very aggravating!

App went from good to bad
I really liked this app when I first got it but after the last update it has been nothing but trouble. At first it refused to let me sign in when I wanted to add more sightings. Got that problem resolved only to find that it's a pain to add new sightings. When I do add additional sightings of the same species instead of putting the added sighting on that particular species thumbnail it adds another thumbnail ending up with a very long list of duplicates.. The original way was way better. Last night I started putting some old sightings in because the originals were gone. After three entries all my old sightings popped up. I thought great, maybe it's working now but no. Today I went to my sightings section and most were gone again. It also decided I live in Vermont on the first few sightings I entered. Some pretty sloppy programming. This app should really be debugged before release rather than using those who buy it having to do the debugging.

The Full Birding Experience
I just upgraded to the 3.0 version and to my great pleasure it made a great app even better. My first reaction was how well NatureShare was integrated into the app. NatureShare has been a wonderful enrichment to my birding experience. As the name suggests I can put photos of my nature sightings and get feedback from fellow nature enthusiasts. Its much more than a social website. Much can be learned there and the fact that you are sharing your sightings with many others makes it more meaningful. When I first opened the upgraded app I was really impressed that all of my 235 sightings were there complete with my pictures, comments, and locations. Also it is very simple for me to add sightings when out in the field. The location information will be recorded as well as any comments that I care to make about the sighting. If you're looking for birds in the area the app will present you with a map showing all of the recent sightings according to eBird. If you get the eBird emails of these sightings you will realize how much easier this feature makes it to find the birds that you want. The real value of this app starts with the tremendous body of information on birds. Pictures, sounds, range maps, and descriptions increase your understanding of birds. When it comes to identifying birds the app will help you make this task easier by filtering birds by family, shape, color, size, habitat, and so on. All serious birders need to have this app.
