Great now with NatureShare!
I like this app because of ebird--you can keep track of bird sightings nearby, that's a great tool especially when you want to go on a short birding walk close by. But it has natureshare access now: a community much like fb or other social media sites exclusive for nature sightings. Great improvement to an already awesome app!

Features offered by none other
If you like illustrations, as opposed to photos, you may have passed this by. If so, you are missing a few features you may not have known you even wanted, or thought possible. The first, and best is ebird integration. Buy it for that alone, as it works better than ebird itself for finding what's been seen recently in your area. The second is the large number of bird songs and calls. Finally it's recording features are the best. If you can only buy one birding app, this could be a very good choice; but you probably won't stop here, regardless.

Love using this app!
It is great fun seeing a new bird for the first time and adding it to the journal. Being able to compare the recorded vocal calls makes identifying fun and easy. Tons of interesting info on every species and many other useful features. Beautiful photos as well!

A great help for a beginning birder
I found this app helpful in a more abbreviated form on my old Droid and am very glad to find the updated version for my new iPhone. It's helpful in particular to see what others have sighted in confirming my own IDs. A helpful way to begin keeping my own list.

Good thing I read the reviews
I was about to gift this app since I've been using it occasionally and thought it was OK for beginning birders. But I read about the Black Duck and tried it. Sure enough, the app crashed. Looks like Sibley will be the gifted app.

Best field guide app I've used
Audubon birds of North America is a wonderful help in the field or fun to just browse through at home. Field marks, bird sounds, and images have helped me correctly identify many species. I don't leave home without it.
