Great app for birders!
This app is an amazing guide to birds of North America, and I totally recommend it to any bird watcher. Each profile contains great range maps, astounding photos, a detailed description, and tons of bird calls and songs. It also contains a wonderful nature network through Natureshare where you can share sightings and photos. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the disability of not being able to edit sightings and your life list without having to do it with a computer with Internet.

Wonderful!
I just upgraded my phone, so I've been asked to update my review. The new phone has more screen space and higher definition, but the app itself seems to be wonderfully unchanged. Here's what I wrote before: It does what it says and more. Worth every penny!

It's okay but
The app is okay, has nice photographs, and some good features. My biggest gripe with the app is its tight integration with Nature Share to the point that the app is virtually useless without an Internet connection. I use a WiFi iPad, therefore most of the even basic features are unavailable to me in the field. Without a connection to Nature Share, you can't add a sighting or even look at your life list. Working in the cloud is fine until you find yourself in the wilds of the Adirondacks without a WiFi or Cellular signal.
