Good bank, bad app, terrible user experience
Ally is a great bank, but without a brick and mirror building, it's users rely on things like the mobile app to deposit checks and manage funds. They should be investing even a small portion of what they would for a physical location in things like the mobile app. Hire a good designer. Hire a ux expert. Fix the clunky, ugly, inconvenient, and poorly thought out nature of the app.

Decent App
I think it is a decent app because it rarely hangs for me, bit it is not exactly loaded with features. Nonetheless, sometimes it is handy to pay a bill via my phone or deposit a check through the app. Those tools generally work well, so I recommend downloading the app.

Does not log in
I've had my iPhone 5S for 10 days now and I still can't log in to the app. I've been trying everyday and it says it's unavailable.

BEST BANK. PERIOD.
But you guys need to update your app icon to iOS 7 status specs. C'mon Ally keep up the updates and great service. Loyal customer here.

Basic
I use Bank of America and Ally. The web and app functionality are so far inferior on Ally. I can't even believe how difficult bill pay is. I keep waiting (with my fingers crossed) for better tech, as I'd love to do all my banking with Ally. In the meantime, I will keep my money in two places!
