End of an era
Anyone else remember when Adobe exhibited not only quality, but always actually a leader of the pack? Crumble, crumble, crumble.

Pretty good.
For a concept artist on the go, this is near perfect. I can't count how many times I was on the train, in a meeting or just hanging out with friends when I needed to quickly sketch something down and didn't have paper with me. This isn't supposed to be Photoshop or Illustrator. It's Ideas. It's supposed to be a sketchbook for jotting down inspiration, not executing finished illustrations. For what it does, it's pretty darn good.

Excellent Vector Drawing Tool
For those who want a matchless drawing/sketching tool, this is the app for you. Smooth lines, high res export. Fine touch up by using the eraser.

Indispensable
I love this app and what it can do for me while I'm creating art on the iPad. Previously I was limited by canvas size. With ideas I can push that limitation aside and potentially create something as large as I would like it to be. By opening the vectors up in illustrator my options are limitless and I can get as much detail as I would like. Obviously if you are looking for "painterly" styles this is probably not the app for you. The tools consist of a marker type drawing tool that can be resized and an eraser tht can be resized. The marker tool has an opacity setting. There are also tools for resizing what you've drawn. You don't control the points of the vectors you just draw. This is fine for me because I've always hated messing this those points anyway and I like that I never have to see them here. For some it's probably a turn off but to me the same effects can be achieved by sculpting a drawing with the eraser or other colors. The only things I find myself needing are the following: Merge layers Preserve transparency I would like a slightly more expressive pen with tapered ends but I can understand fully why we don't see it here. Remember with this app you can zoom all the way in and work as small as you needs for the details without any loss of definition.
