A great vector sketching app!
Don't let the bad reviews and comparisons to other drawing apps put you off. As far as I know this is the ONLY app that lets you finger paint with vectors. At first blush, it would seem that this is just another sketching app until you realize that what your sketching and erasing actually end up as vectors — this means that no matter how far you zoom in, your drawings stay sharp and smooth, and don't get pixelated as they do in just about every other sketching app. This fact alone makes Adobe Ideas a valuable addition to your iPad. It's ability to do layers and work with palettes is just icing on the cake. Don't pass this app up. I initially thought it was just another sketching app, but now it's on the front page of my iPad. I use it for sketching quick diagrams to illustrate stuff during a conversation, mocking up user interfaces, and general doodling. I have no doubt a skilled artist could use it to create natural-looking vector art.

I was very close to buying the layers, but kept putting it off. I go to try it again like I have countless times, but this time FREE LAYERS! Love this app!

Quick and simple
I love this zippy app for blasting through brainstorm sketches. It's extremely responsive on the iPad 3. Ideas is my go-to app for quick sketches with just enough tools to get the job done. The addition of layers has really made this powerful enough to get some decent looking sketches done.

Great App
Great App! But where is the theme creator? I would love if I can sync my pictures over iCloud :D Or open a work.

New icon too dark, old features hampered needlessly
The new icon is too dark for the home screen - it blends in too much against the dark linen texture of a folder, making the app less appealing to launch and use. The old color scheme was much more eye-catching and pleasant. I've also noticed that the app is more sluggish in scrolling the gallery of my work - I assume this is due to a change in the underlying architecture of the app, rather than simply the addition of document titles. The frustration of many users regarding the change in creating color themes is well founded - while it is in fact possible to create custom themes by dragging the eyedropper-selected color chip from the sidebar to the palette, and then the palette to the themes selector, this is more tedious and less joyful than the previous method. I have my suspicions that this is meant to shift the workflow towards a future release of Kuler for iOS, and I'm frustrated that this feature was taken out of the app. This used to be an easy recommendation to anyone who bought an iPad, but now I suspect I'll be suggesting some other app.
